eLearning Developer (Contractor Role)
(Open Call for Independent Contractors)
We are seeking Independent Contractors to provide eLearning Development services on a project-based or hourly basis, supporting the design, development, and delivery of custom digital learning solutions and assets.
This is an open call for contractors. Our team will reach out to qualified candidates as needs arise.
Important: This is not a full-time role or salaried position. This opportunity is for hourly contract work, with rates ranging from $35-$45 per hour, depending on experience for individuals currently residing in Canada or the USA.
- Use tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Vyond, and related multimedia applications to create polished learning deliverables.
- Translate instructional design plans, storyboards, scripts, and source materials into engaging, accessible, and effective digital learning experiences.
- Develop and maintain interactive eLearning courses, simulations, assessments, scenarios, and reusable learning components, applying adult learning principles and user experience considerations to improve learner engagement and knowledge retention.
- Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, project managers, clients, and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify expectations, scope opportunities and deliver learning solutions.
- Identify risks and scope concerns within assigned projects and escalate appropriately.
- Provide informal guidance and share best practices with other eLearning developers to support consistency, skill development, and efficient delivery of high-quality learning solutions, as well as onboarding.
- Review and test deliverables for accuracy, functionality, usability, accessibility, brand alignment, and adherence to client guidelines, internal standards, project objectives, and WCAG requirements, where applicable.
- Troubleshoot course functionality, publishing, LMS compatibility, tracking, media, accessibility, and learner experience issues.
- Incorporate user acceptance testing feedback efficiently and accurately.
- Manage multiple eLearning development projects simultaneously while meeting timelines, scope, quality expectations, and communication requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of development workflows, standards, templates, quality assurance processes, and the appropriate use of emerging eLearning, AI-enabled, automation, and assistive technologies.
- Experience using tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack or similar platforms for collaboration, documentation and design.
- Working knowledge of Articulate 360, particularly Storyline and Rise, with familiarity using Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Audition; experience with Captivate or similar authoring tools is an asset.
- Ability to translate approved storyboards, scripts, design documents, and source materials into functional, visually consistent, and learner-focused eLearning deliverables.
- Understanding of LMS packaging, publishing, tracking, SCORM/xAPI considerations, accessibility standards, WCAG guidelines, and quality assurance testing practices.
- Foundational knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, and user experience considerations for digital learning.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, automation features, and assistive technologies that support efficient content development, accessibility testing, media production, and quality assurance.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, communication skills, and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, project-based environment.

Compensation: Invoiced based on services
